Not sure about the upgright pack but I could get that instead of the Steinway D. Having tested it out for a few weeks I would probably want at least three instrument packs, the Steinway D for the Honky Tonk presets for Ragtime piano and the C.Bechstein and Steingraeber instrument packs as well. I'm just not sure at this point if it's worth the extra $$ for some additional piano sounds that I would only use occasionally. Outside of the CFX I am not that enamored of the other piano sounds in the NU1X, here Pianoteq helps round out my playing options. While I like some of the sounds in Pianoteq I still default to the CFX sound in the NU1X, I just press the on button on the piano and play like you would with an upright. Also impressed with how easy it was to connect the NU1X and route the sound through the NU1X speakers using the same USB cable, simple and it works well. I am running it without a problem on a 8-9 year old notebook. Initial impressions are good, very suprised by how well it runs on low level hardware. I am currently playing around Pianoteq connected to my NU1X. In which case, can anyone share particular settings that worked for them on an LX7** piano, and say one of the 'favourite' VST pianos? I noticed that the upper registers are louder and the attack (if that's the correct word) is harder/faster in the upper registers.Īlso, is there an iPad modelling based VST? Initial thoughts are that Pianoteq is great via laptop (there is some lag using default settings), but the setup might be tidier (and easier to fiddle with) via a tablet. So, as far as velocity curves and other settings - is this peculiar to the DP (ie, do they give out different readings dependant on their keybed), or is this peculiar to the VST piano.

Pianoteq Pro 6 by Modartt (KVRAudio Product Listing): Pianoteq 6 is an award-winning virtual instrument that can be used both in standalone mode and as an instrument plug-in. and this is where things get tricky for me (there are a fair few settings!). PIANOTEQ 6 FREE TRAIL RECORD PRO It is a very adaptable instrument that can be connected to your MIDI compatible keyboard. Perhaps it's just how my ears prefer to hear things. Interestingly, they sounded much better via the LX-705 speakers. Tried a few piano sounds on headphones too - I didn't like many, and they sounded like sampled DP sounds. headphone out from computer to line-in on the LX-705. After reading various threads on here, I thought I'd give VST a try.ĭownloaded a Pianoteq trial, installed, USB from piano to laptop.
